MISSED EDUCATION BOOK CLUB: The Open Veins Of Latin America By Eduardo Galeano

Missed Education Book Club: Reading The Open Veins Of Latin America by Eduardo Galeano

Our Missed Education book club is all about sifting through the fragments of history deemed worthy to be taught in required history classes & rediscovering a history that was missed (intentionally) & skewed, but was always there, the history of the systemically marginalized.

We read one book each month and are now meeting in person again to discuss it!

To finish off Latinx heritage month and get into Native American history month, we are reading a book that sheds light on the exploitative history of colonizers in the Americas, but through navigating the natural resources that they stole and exploited. This book is considered a must read for anyone wanting to understand the sorted history of Latin America. Our new book club book is, The Open Veins of Latin America By Eduardo Galeano.

And we are going back to meeting in person to discuss the book! We will meet at Palabras on Saturday November 6th at 12p in our back patio area. There’s coffee from Hakiri Coffee and Pastries from Por Vida if you get hungry. Masks are not required outside, but you can wear them, just depending on your comfort level.
